General Ukrainian courses will cover Survival Ukrainian, allowing you to be comfortable during short visits to the country; polite conversation, practicable vocabulary and a strong grammatical foundation. Business courses are great for those whose career will be moving overseas - you would learn the fundamental protocols for engaging in business in Ukrainian, and later would start to focus more on the integral skills of reading and writing.
It is your first session and your own requirements, however, which decide the precise content of the course. A Business course will generally include common conversational topics, as well as gaining greater fluency with writing letters and emails in Ukrainian, as well as using the telephone. Equally, a General course will cover the fundamentals, but further focus in any particular area can easily be arranged with your teacher.

With around 450,000 residents in the borough and city, and a further 820,000 in the urban area, Liverpool is a sprawling post-industrial metropolis, and thanks to its sea trade has always attracted plenty of overseas visitors and immigrants, all of which help give those living in the city a fantastic scope for picking up a new language. Ukrainian is an East Slavic language, used by around 40 million people around the world, and shares many features with other Slavic tongues such as Polish, Russian, Croatian and Slovak; including the Cyrillic alphabet.
The Ukrainian language has had a chequered history, and is currently recovering from a period of deterioration due to numerous bans and discouragement over the past few centuries. Since the last decade of the 20th century, the Ukrainian government has actively encouraged the spread of the language, and nowadays almost everyone in Ukraine speaks the language, though many are also fluent in Russian.
Ukrainian, like most Slavic languages, is a difficult prospect for the average native English speaker, but fluency can be gained with careful study, daily practice and a little passion.

Moving to Scotland with my family was difficult, because I never could understand the accent! Andy comes over to our flat on Saturday afternoons and helps my wife and I a lot. He even helped us with some local slang terms and things to do in the city. We are much more comfortable here now, and continue with our classes.
